Design Story

The composition is strictly vertical. A smiling gingerbread figure occupies the upper focal panel, arms open, scarf resting in deep red against warm amber. Below, a gingerbread house with a peppermint window anchors the lower third, framed by evergreen and a drift of pale beading that acts as a visual floor. Snowflakes scatter across the dark background, functioning as negative space rather than ornament — they let the two main subjects breathe. Red, gold, cream and green repeat in a tight loop from the lid rim to the base, so the eye travels down the silhouette in one continuous movement. Nothing shouts; the warmth comes from density and repetition.
